Lisa Johnson is the co-founder of Been There Got Out, a high-conflict divorce strategist, certified domestic violence advocate, podcast host, and author who helps people navigate toxic relationships, family court, custody battles, parental alienation, and co-parenting challenges. Drawing from her own lived experience, Lisa successfully represented herself through numerous court appearances, and her case was published in the Connecticut Law Journal and is being used as legal precedent. Her live testimony also helped pass Jennifer’s Law in Connecticut, expanding the legal definition of domestic violence to include coercive control. A former high school English teacher, Lisa combines personal insight, advocacy, and education to support individuals facing high-conflict legal and family situations. She is also the co-author of Been There Got Out: Toxic Relationships, High-Conflict Divorce, and How to Stay Sane Under Insane Circumstances.
